Cliff McNish is the author of the fantasy novels The Doomspell Trilogy ("think witches with four jaws and attitude"), The Silver Sequence ("think the next generation x-men, but more bizarre, less Hollywood, with a bad guy literally bigger than our planet") and Breathe: a ghost story ("decide how badly your mother might punish you if you misbehaved, then add a knife into the mix").
Cliff is based in the UK but lucky enough to be published in 20-something languages now - "I've had opinions on them from all over the world. I think my favourite was from a German girl, who told me 'Compared to you, J. K. Rowling is an amateur.' Kinda rolls smoothly off the tongue when you say it. Sounds definitive, somehow".
He also wrote the book Angel, about a girl who is half human and half angel.
