Sue Eves is a children's author and puppeteer. She can read a book with one hand and wag a puppet-dog tail with the other - often both at the same time!

Earlier this year Andersen Press published her second picture book, The Quiet Woman and the Noisy Dog, illustrated by Ailie Busby.

A quiet woman and her noisy dog meet a noisy woman and her quiet dog in the park and the dogs get muddled up. It is an onomatopoeic story of comic confusion that results in friendship for two dogs and their owners.

To launch this book Sue invited children from a Berkshire school to help her name the puppet dog that now accompanies her on author events. WOOFY presented book tokens to the two children who suggested his name, in a special naming day at the school.

Sue toured in schools and theatres for many years as an actor and puppeteer with OILY CART, one of the UK's leading children's theatre companies.

Writing for children and puppetry went hand-in-glove-puppet when Sue landed her dream job as the original voice and puppeteer of Tamba, the dragon, on the Cbeebies children's television programme, Tikkabilla. Her first picture book, HIC! (Published by Bodley Head) featured in the first series and she went on to write scripts for the programme.

Currently, she is co-writing children's fiction with fellow SCBWI member Alix Parker who shares a background in writing for TV and theatre.
