Keren David started out in journalism at 18 when she got a job as a messenger girl. She went on to work on many national papers including stints on The Independent's news and comment desks. She lived in Amsterdam for eight years, working for a photographic agency, and on returning to live in London in 2007 signed up for a course of evening classes in Writing for Children at City University.
While taking the classes she started writing her first book, When I Was Joe, a YA thriller about a boy who witnesses a crime and has to take on a false identity. When I Was Joe was published by Frances Lincoln in January 2010 and the sequel Almost True followed in September 2010.
Keren is a keen social networker, spending much too much time tweeting (@kerensd), hanging out on Facebook and updating her blog
