Emma Layfield

Emma Layfield is the Editorial Director of picture books at Hodder Children's Books and has been with the company for twelve years.

She manages the colour list and commissions picture books and novelty titles. From established authors and illustrators to newcomers, she is on the lookout for the very best books – those with a brilliant narrative, a nice writing style, a strong theme, and fully developed characters.

Her author-illustrators include: Chris Mould, Emma Thomson, Alex T Smith, Melanie Williamson, Gillian Shields, David Bedford and Hiawyn Oram
