Time to party!

Thanks to Joe Friedman for the animation!

Last year's conference party was the talk of the children's books blogosphere and the Bookseller! It's time to break out the glad-rags again and celebrate another great year of children's writing and illustrating.

Mingle and chat with fellow delegates, faculty and invited industry guests (editors, agents and art directors) at our special evening party.

You never know who you'll end up talking to next to the buffet line or as you get your free glass of wine/fruit juice. It could be the start of something very special.

Last year's cake celebrating ten years of SCBWI British Isles

As part of the festivities, we'll be announcing the winner of the SCBWI British Isles Outstanding Contribution Award. It recognises an individual who have made an outstanding contribution to our region - someone who has excelled in either embodying the spirit of SCBWI or whose ideas and hard work have had a major impact on the success and growth of our region. View our awe inspiring nominees on our website .

We're also celebrating the publishing successes of our members this year with a Mass Book Launch! A stunning range of authors and illustrators will be "coming out" at SCBWI British Isles version of a debutante's ball. From debuts to established names, from picture books to YA novels, from fiction to non-fiction, they'll all be there!

Plus we'll have a couple surprises up our dinner jacket sleeve for the evening! Watch out for more announcement as the line-up is confirmed.

Last year we had 17 authors and illustrators taking part in our mass book launch, this year we hope to have even more!

Dress code: Smart Evening Wear.
